The coffee and cakes are delightful, but I'm afraid that for a cafe run as posh as this, it's understaffed at the bar. My order was made wrong because the servers simply have too much to juggle with a trainee at the register and a barista that must stop to help her, in this situation another server is best to smooth out service and ensure consistency. Three servers makes sense on any morning for a cafe this busy. Don't push your workers or else hiccups happen, push stability and good service.

You have probably all seen this building nestled at the intersection of Thomasville Road and North Monroe, I'm a big fan of Ground Ops Roastery + Bakehouse. The building itself is unique, offering interesting views of the steady flow of traffic below and even glimpses toward downtown Tallahassee and the Capitol area on a clear day. The coffee is consistently delicious, with rich flavors that make it easy to settle in and stay awhile. (LOVE the smell of coffee!) Just as impressive are the bakery offerings—creative pastries and sweet treats that pair perfectly with whatever you're drinking. It's obvious that a lot of care goes into both the coffee and the baked goods. One of the best things about Ground Ops is the variety of seating. Whether you're meeting friends for a conversation at one of the tables or looking for a cozy, comfortable spot to work for a few hours, there's plenty of room to make yourself at home. The atmosphere strikes a great balance between energetic and relaxing, making it an ideal place to catch up with others or simply enjoy some quiet time with a laptop and a great cup of coffee. Ground Ops is definitely worth checking out, especially if coffee destination

Upon entry to the Ground Ops Roastery, we kept exclaiming our astonishment that we hadn’t been here yet, after driving by hundreds of times. At the very point where Monroe and Thomasville Rd converge, the GOR is a busy and attractive coffeehouse that begs you to sit back, have a snack and a cup of your favorite beverage and relax. We had the Red Velvet, the Orange cake, Hello Cake and a vegetarian focaccia. All were outstanding, like the very best I’ve ever had they are that good! The staff suggested a perfect pink strawberry custom soda that my daughter adored, and her only regret was as mentioned that we hadn’t found this place sooner! Will most definitely be coming back regularly to our new favorite coffee shop and bakery.

Love supporting local- especially veteran owned and this coffee shop hits all the high points! Delicious coffee, yummy pastries and excellent atmosphere!! Definitely check it out!

1.28.24 I had my first Ground Ops experience. Firstly, I loved that the line ended at the door; one of the good signs that I may be at a top-rated spot. We were immediately greeted by staff (another plus for me). I ordered 3 cinnamon rolls & a spinach quiche slice. The quiche was divine while the rolls weren't even close. However, the atmosphere, customer service, and cleanliness of the establishment (both in/out) made for a very nice visit! My customized order of a vanilla hazelnut latte w/ almond milk was absolutely fabulous! It was so rich, creamy, and just the right amount of sweetness and flavoring that I tipped the barista. This is one of Tally's newest gems!
